This blog is for my niece Katy. She is almost 5 years old, and I am attempting to write the world from her perspective. She is such a delight, and I am proud to be raising such a joy. Check out my friends Jeff, Lisa, Kevin, and Becky at B98.5. Also visit ACH for the best doctors in the world.

I've been a really sick baby. I have this really weird rash! It started on my legs, and looked like heat rash. It lasted a few days so Mommy took me to the doctor. He thought it might be a food allergy, so they wouldn't let me have tomato sauce any more. But it didn't go away, even with the antihistamine he gave me. It got worse. It got all over my body, and started looking like huge bumps. When the big bumps would go away, it would look like heat rash again. I been to the doctor 3 times in the last two weeks, and missed 4 days of school, and now I have 3 medicines I have to take. One of them I only have to take for a week, but the other two I have to take for a long time. It has finally gone away, and the doctor still doesn't know what it was. Oh well, we're going on vacation in a few days!

I'm in school!

I'm so big! Mama took me to my new school Monday. I go to Easter Seals school. My teacher is really nice, her name is Miss Amanda. She has a little boy. He's in my class too. There are 13 kids in my class! I'm the littlest one though, all the rest of em are 18 months old and up. All the other kids can walk, and I get a therapist who's gonna teach me how to walk too. Another therapist is gonna teach me how to talk. My mama knows what I'm saying, so I think they are the ones who need to learn how to hear!

I got to play with a real live bunny rabbit! It was brown and fuzzy! It is so soft! I am learning my abc's too. Yesterday, some people came and had a cookout for all the kids in school. They fixed us hot dogs. We got ice cream cones for dessert! I get two snacks every day, and I can't have my bottle. But that's ok, I think I'm getting too big for a bottle anyway. None of the other kids in my class have a bottle.

Some of the kids at my school use machines to help them walk. Some other ones use a machine to help them breathe. Other kids kind of talk funny. There are lots of kids! Our teachers are always telling us how special we are!

We have a big playground. We have special toys that the kids who have machines helping them walk can play on too. On Friday, we all get to come to school in our bathing suits and water shoes! We get to play in the water all day! Sounds like fun!

Well, I have to go to bed now, I have to get up early for school!

Whew! What a week!

Whew! I'm a tired tot!

We spent all last weekend in Little Rock. All of us and Aunt Cathi, Uncle Tony, and my best pal and cousin Laila went to Riverfest. I never seen so many people in all my life! There were big people, little people, all kinds of people!

I finally got to meet Mary Grace. Neither one of us felt like talking much. I had sunscreen in my eyes, so they were kinda red. And Mary Grace has been sick, she had to have a biopsy, so she was kinda quiet too.

We watched these guys do all kinds of flips. They were flipping off of each others heads! They even had some big kids down there, and the guys were jumping and flipping over their heads!

There were a lot of girls showing off how they can dance. Some little bitty girls not much bigger than me were dressed like brides and they couldn't remember how to do their dance. Everybody clapped for them anyway and said they were just the cutest. Hey, I thought I was the cutest???

We went to this place in North Little Rock called the Old Mill. It is really pretty. There were lots of tasty looking flowers, but mama wouldn't let me eat them. She said I could just look. What fun is that? At least dada let me down for a while and let me crawl around. I hate being carried around all the time. I can get around by myself, so why do they want to carry me? They won't let me eat flowers, or rocks, or paper cups, they spoil everything!

They took me out to eat Sunday before we went back to Riverfest. They ordered me a grill cheese sandwich. Did I mention I could live on sandwiches? I love bread! I also love cheese and penut butter. And crackers and my kitten. My kitten screamed at me last time I bit his tail. That was funny. While we were waiting for the food, I showed them all how cute I am. I played peek-a-boo with them. All this time they been tryin to teach me, and I let em think I couldn't do it. Then when I had all their attention, I showed em I could! They all laughed and clapped, they were so loud I thought we'd get kicked out of the restaurant!

After we ate, we went back to Riverfest. We were supposed to get to hear an orchestra and watch some fireworks. I don't know what either of those are, but it sounds like fun. We parked, walked to the river, found us a spot on the hill, and it started raining. Hard. I was a drenched baby! laila and I thought it was fun getting rained on. We wanted to play. But the big people are no fun. They were grabbing umbrellas and stuff and walked back to where we parked. By the time we got to the van, everybody was all wet. Serves them right for not letting a baby have any fun!

Guess what? I'm so big! I get to start school on Monday! Mama got a call yesterday and they are ready for me to come on Monday! I get to go to Easter Seals school. There are lots of other babies my age there. I will have fun biting them! Uh-oh, mama saw that and told me I'm not allowed to bite. Well, she won't be there! She's sad cause she says she will miss me. I'll miss her too, but I'll have lots of new friends! Too bad Laila can't go with me.

Me and Laila got 2 new swimming pools. We have one at my house and one at hers. Mama and Aunt Cathi put us in the pool at Lailas yesterday. They put us in there buck nekkid then took pictures of us swimming! They said something about "blackmail" I don't know what that is, but they were laughing about it. Laila and I splashed each other and the mamas. It was fun. We both kept trying to reach out and get leaves and grass and stuff to play with, and the mamas kept telling us no. We thought we'd be smart and climb out and grab stuff, but all that got us was a bath in the pool. Aunt Cathi went in and got baby wash and they scrubbed us down. No fun! What good is outside if you can't get dirty?
